Six Concordia Panthers Baseball Players Receive All-North Central Kansas League Recognition

The North Central Kansas League announced its baseball all-league selections this week.

Through its selection process, four members of the Concordia High School Baseball team were named to the All-League Team, while two other Panthers received All-League Honorable Mention recognition.

The four players named to the All-League Team are Stryker Hake, Caleb Hanson, Joey Henderson, and Braeden Primeaux.

Hake, this year's Concordia Outstanding Senior Baseball Player of the Year, hit .483 on the year with 28 hits, 27 runs and 26 RBI.  Hake, who has signed to play baseball next year at Cloud County Community College, also hit seven triples this season to break the single-season record, and collected 13 triples to set a new career triples record at CHS.  As a pitcher, Hake threw 21 1/3 innings, including three starts, and had a 6.23 ERA, allowing 19 earned runs off 26 hits while striking out 32 batters on his way to earning a 2-1 overall record.

Henderson appeared in all 21 games and batted .400 on the year, with 26 hits and 28 runs scored.  He finished the year with a .554 slugging percentage and a .530 on-base percentage.

Hanson hit .518 on the year with a .786 slugging percentage and a .627 on-base percentage.  Hanson had the most hits on the team with 29, including eight doubles, 31 runs and 16 RBI.  On the mound, Hanson threw 18 2/3 innings, making two starts, and tallied 14 strikeouts.

Primeaux was the team's top pitcher.  Primeaux made nine starts and ended the season with a 5-4 record.  Primeaux had a 2.62 ERA after allowing 16 earned runs in 42 2/3 innings of work, while posting 45 strikeouts.  At the plate, Primeaux hit .377 on the season, collecting 23 hits and 21 RBI.

This year, Juniors Payton Breese and Keegun Beims were named All-League Honorable Mention.

Beims, first baseman, batted .385 with a .446 slugging percentage and a .474 on-base percentage.  Beims had 25 hits and 25 RBI.

Breese, third baseman, hit .279 on the year with 17 hits, 18 runs and 15 RBI.

Concordia concluded the 2023 season with a 12-9 overall record, losing to the Rossville Bulldogs by a final score of 6-1 in the opening round of the 2023 Kansas State High School Activities Association Class 3A Regional Baseball Tournament in Sabetha on May 17th.
