During finals week for the graduating class of 2025 at Concordia High School, the Senior student-athletes of the Panther varsity golf team prioritized their studies by taking their final exams. Not wanting to miss a league meet, Head Coach Gene Rundus provided an opportunity for some reserve varsity members and junior varsity members to compete against varsity-level competition at the 2025 Marysville Invitational on Tuesday, May 6th, at the Marysville Country Club.

The Marysville Country Club features a 9-hole course with a yardage of 6,043, and the course was set at a 72 par for the 18-hole varsity tournament. Below are the team standings:

1 Marysville 320
2 Sabetha 333
3 Wamego 353
4 Seneca 355
5 Abilene 365
6 Clay Center 376
7 Concordia 419

"We knew the greens would be challenging with some tricky pin placements," Rundus said. "Their course is usually in great shape, so we also played the ball down today, which is the way golf is supposed to be played. However, it always adds an extra element of difficulty when you miss a fairway or find a divot."

Below are the top 10 individual performances, as well as the Panther golfers.

1 Eli Sedlaeck Marysville 73
2 Roman Scoby Sabetha 76
3 Mason Rader Marysville 78
4 Aaron Hartman Abilene 83
5 Harper Sandmann Marysville 84
T5 Dawson Moore Sabetha 84
7 Cord Foltz Wamego 85
T7 Colton Coffman Marysville 85
T7 David Webb Wamego 85
10 Caleb Renyer Sabetha 86
T10 Oakley Sly Wamego 86
29 Zak Allen Concordia 98
T32 Logan Jackson Concordia 103
36 Max Johnson Concordia 107
38 Bryson Sorensen Concordia 111
41 Cole Britt Concordia 115

"Though only Zak broke 100, I saw a lot of positives out there today and look forward to watching these guys grow over the summer and as they compete again next spring," Rundus said.

The Panthers will now compete in the North Central Kansas League tournament, which will be held at Colbert Hills in Manhattan on Monday, May 12th.
