Excessive rainfall fell in south central Kansas on Tuesday, May 24th, leading to the cancellation of the second day of 2022 Kansas State High School Activities Association Class 4A State Golf Tournament at the Sand Creek Station Golf Course in Newton, Kansas.

The Kansas State High School Activities Association announced Tuesday morning that the 4A, 3A and 1A State Golf Tournaments would not continue due to unplayable course conditions.  By manual policy, the championship reverts back to the first 18 hole scores for final results.

Three members of the Concordia High School Boys Golf team -- Seniors Braxton Kindel and Hayden Dvorak and Sophomore Lewis VanMeter -- remained in contention after the opening day before it was determined that the second round was not able to be played.

Kindel, making his third career state tournament appearance, finished in a tie for 26th place with an 89.  VanMeter also shot an 89.  Dvorak, another three-time state qualifier, carded a 91.

For the first time since 2008, the Panthers qualified a full team to compete at the state meet after recording a second place finish in the 4A Regional Tournament in Hesston on May 16th.

Other Concordia results at the state meet saw Junior Keegan Hamel shoot a 101.  Junior Aden Plymesser had a 103.  Freshman Luke Donovan finished with a 104.
