Concordia High School Junior Lewis VanMeter concluded play in the 2023 Kansas State High School Activities Association Class 3A State Golf Meet in Dodge City on Tuesday, May 23rd.

VanMeter, playing in his second career state tournament, shot a 42 on the front nine and a 42 on the back nine to finish with an 84 on Tuesday.

A day earlier, VanMeter recorded an 83, advancing to the second day of the state tournament by one stroke.

VanMeter's two-day total of 167 was good for 35th place.

As a sophomore, VanMeter shot an 89 on the first day of the 2022 Kansas State High School Activities Association Class 4A State Golf Tournament at the Sand Creek Station Golf Course in Newton, Kansas and qualified for the second-day of competition, but excessive rainfall led to unplayable course conditions and the cancellation of the final day of play.

This year, VanMeter was the only Panthers competitor to advance to the second day of competition.

The entire Concordia Varsity Boys Golf team qualified for this year's state tournament at Mariah Hills Golf Course following a first place regional tournament win in Russell last week.

On Monday, Senior Aden Plymesser carded an 85, Sophomore Luke Donovan finished with an 87, Sophomore Karson Lister recorded a 90, and Senior Keegan Hamel and Sophomore Lennon Ninemire both posted a 94.
