KJCCC Men's Basketball Players of the Week - Week 4
A trio of Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference men’s basketball players have earned KJCCC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week honors with Wesly Rosa (Dodge City) and Matthew Garber (Cloud County) both earning co-Division 1 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week honors while Fort Scott’s Marko Taft has earned KJCCC D2 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week honors for week 4 of the 2024-25 season.
Wesly Rosa – Dodge City (KJCCC Division 1 Co-Men’s Basketball Player of the Week)
Dodge City opened KJCCC play with a convincing road win over rival Garden City and then suffered a tough loss against Cloud County. Conquistador big man, Wesly Rosa had his two best games with Dodge City by recording a double-double in both contests. Rosa finished with 10 points and 16 rebounds in the road win over Garden City before posting a 15-point, 14-rebound game on seven-of-eight shooting while adding four blocks against Cloud County.
Matthew Garber – Cloud County (KJCCC Division 1 Co-Men’s Basketball Player of the Week)
Garber has helped Cloud County get off to an 8-0 start this season, the best start by the T-Birds since 2006-07 with two wins to open up conference play being sparked by the redshirt freshman. In the KJCCC opener against Seward County, Garber scored 14 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for his second double-double of the season before connecting on six threes on the road at Dodge City three days later to score a career-high and game-high 22 points against the Conquistadors. For the season, Garber is averaging 13.0 points and 7.0 rebounds per contest with the rebounds ranking seventh among KJCCC D1 men’s basketball players this season.
