Four former members of the Cloud County Community College men's and women's track and field teams have punched their tickets to Eugene, Oregon, for the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships to be held Wednesday, June 11 through Saturday, June 14.

Vimbayi Maisvorewa (400M, 4x400M Relay), Kidus Misgina (5,000M), Corey Ottey (4x400M Relay), and Vincent Ugwoke (Discus) will head to Oregon to compete in the championships.

Maisvorewa is an All-American at Auburn University. Maisvorewa will be returning to Oregon for her second NCAA Outdoor Championships to compete in the 400 meters. She currently holds the second-fastest 400M time in the country of 50.25.

A native of Mutare, Zimbabwe, Maisvorewa is also part of the Auburn 4x400-meter relay team that ran 3:28.06 at the NCAA East Preliminaries in Jacksonville, Florida, and advanced to Eugene to compete at nationals.

Prior to Auburn, Maisvorewa ran at Cloud County Community College for two years, winning the 2022 NJCAA Outdoor title in the 400M (54.18) and the 2023 NJCAA Indoor title in the 400M (53.50). Maisvorewa was a five-time NJCAA National Championships medalist and ran on the 4x400-meter relay team at Cloud County that was the NJCAA Indoor runner-up in 2022.

Misgina is one of two Ole Miss distance runners to earn a national berth in the Men's 5,000 M. Misgina, a senior, finished fifth and grabbed the final auto qualifier spot at the NCAA East Regional in a time of 13:54.94.

Misgina, originally from Chicago, Illinois, was a member of the 2022-2023 Cloud County men's track and field team. An NJCAA All-American, Misgina is the Cloud County school record holder in both the 5,000M (14:26.01) and the 10,000M (29:45.69).

Ottey earned his spot in Eugene as a member of the University of South Florida's 4x400-meter relay squad that posted a school-record time of 3:01.52 to earn first place at the NCAA East Preliminary Round. It marked the third time this season that the Bulls have either matched or rewritten the program's all-time best in the 4x400m relay.

Ottey, a junior from Kingston, Jamaica, was an NJCAA National Championships medalist in the high jump at Cloud County, clearing 6'11.5" to claim a runner-up finish at the 2024 NJCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Monroe, Louisiana.

Ugwoke, also a member of the South Florida men's track and field team, clinched his spot in Eugene in the Discus, delivering a mark of 196'6" at the NCAA East Preliminary Round. Ugwoke, who already holds the South Florida indoor and outdoor records in the event, is also the Cloud County school record holder in the Discus. The Nsukka, Nigeria native threw 194'9" at the 2023 NJCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Hobbs, New Mexico.

Other former T-Birds that recently wrapped up their accomplished seasons in the NCAA East & West Preliminary Rounds included: Jessi Brummett (Javelin; Kansas State University), Oageng Mdlela (Triple Jump; University of Memphis), and Awakhiwe Ndlovu (Triple Jump; University of Oklahoma).

Two other former T-Birds, Isila Apkup and Awet Beraki, both represented Adams State University at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships in Pueblo, Colorado, last week.
