Four Concordia Softball Players Pick Up All-NCKL Honors

The North Central Kansas League has released its 2023 Softball All-League award winners.

The Concordia High School Softball team boasts four student-athletes to receive all-league recognition, including Seniors Hanna Acree and Shaelin Giersch, alongside Junior Erinae Flesher and Sophomore Kenlee Williams.

Acree and Flesher were named First Team All-NCKL Infielders.  Williams was selected as a First Team All-NCKL Outfielder.  Giersch received Honorable Mention Outfield honors.

Acree batted .338 on the season with a .486 on-base percentage and a .515 slugging percentage.  Acree, who has signed next year to play softball at Kansas City Kansas Community College, tallied 23 hits, including ten for extra bases, 15 runs and 10 RBI.

As a starting pitcher, Acree had a 1.82 ERA.  She allowed only 19 earned runs in 73 innings of work, and finished the season with 76 strikeouts while permitting just 11 walks.

Flesher, first baseman, led the Panthers at the plate with a .484 batting average.  Flesher had a team-high 31 hits in 64 at-bats, scoring 23 runs and driving in 14.  Flesher ended the year with a .575 on-base percentage and a .578 slugging percentage.

In the circle, Flesher appeared in 10 games.  She recorded a 4.30 ERA, allowing 33 earned runs off 76 hits while notching 42 strikeouts.

Williams, center fielder, hit .319 on the year with a .397 on-base percentage and a .551 slugging percentage.  Williams finished the year with 22 hits, including two triples and three home runs, 17 runs scored and 18 RBI.

Giersch, right fielder, hit .254 on the year with a .343 on-base percentage and a .524 slugging percentage.  Giersch collected 16 hits, including five doubles and four home runs, and 17 RBI.

The Concordia High School Softball team ended its 2023 campaign at 8-13 overall, dropping a 3-1 game at home to the Marysville Bulldogs in the opening round of their 2023 Kansas State High School Activities Association Class 3A Regional Softball Tournament.
