Concordia Volleyball Falls to Wamego in Home Opener

After battling in one of the toughest opening volleyball tournaments in the state of Kansas over the weekend, the Concordia Lady Panther volleyball team had their home opener and North Central Kansas League opener, hosting the Wamego Red Raiders inside The Jungle on Tuesday, September 1st. Wamego won both matches, 2-0 in the first and 2-1 in the second.

In match number one, Wamego won 2-0 with set scores of 25-27 and 19-25. Avery Kueker led the team with 7 kills; Marlee VanMeter, Stella Trost, and Morgan Lister each had a block; Stella Trost finished with 11 digs, and Lister had two aces.

In the second match, Wamego won 2-1 after Concordia took the first set 25-23, and then lost the next two sets 20-25 and 23-25. Kueker once again led the way with 10 kills; Lister and Skylah Garst each had a block, Stella Trost led with 14 digs, and Oakleigh Teel had 2 aces.

Concordia will look to bounce back on Tuesday, September 8th, when they travel to Rock Creek to continue NCKL play, taking on the Mustangs at 5:15.
