Concordia Track & Field Teams Compete at 2024 Belleville Lions Club Invitational
The Concordia High School Varsity Boys and Girls Track and Field teams competed in the 2024 Belleville Lions Club Invitational on Tuesday, April 16th.
The Concordia Girls claimed a fourth place team finish with 77 points, while the Panthers Boys ended up in a tie for 6th place with Valley Heights with 44 points.
In the Girls 3200M Run, Freshman Hannah Bridwell posted a 2nd place finish in a time of 12:53.48.
Senior Carlie Carlgren scored a 2nd place finish in the Girls 100M Hurdles in a time of 16.53.
Sophomore Charlize Cash notched a 2nd place finish in the Girls 300M Hurdles in a time of 50.34. Carlgren was 4th individually in the Girls 300M Hurdles in a time of 52.54.
Carlgren also posted a 7th place finish in the Girls Javelin with a throw of 104' 4.
Carlgren joined teammates, Freshmen Madalyn Bowers and Lillian Nuss and Sophomore Kynlee Hamel, on the Girls 4x100M Relay team that recorded a 2nd place finish in a time of 53.74.
Hamel picked up a 3rd place finish in the Girls 200M Dash in a time of 29.59. Nuss was 5th overall in the Girls 200M Dash in a time of 29.78. Bowers placed 7th in the Girls 200M Dash in a time of 30.42.
Hamel earned a 3rd place finish in the Girls 100M Dash in a time of 13.58
Hamel also added a 3rd place finish in the Girls High Jump with a jump of 4' 10. Freshman Gabi Lange placed 5th individually in the Girls High Jump with a leap of 4' 10. Freshman Oakleigh Teel was 7th individually in the Girls High Jump with a jump of 4' 8.
Lange posted a 3rd place finish in the Girls Pole Vault with a vault of 9' 0. Junior Keely Kindel placed 5th overall in the Girls Pole Vault with a vault of 8' 0.
Lange notched a 6th place finish in the Triple Jump with a jump of 31' 6.
Lange, Nuss, Cash and Freshman Brexlynn Koch competed in the Girls 4x400M Relay. The team turned in a 3rd place finish in a time of 4:32.26
The Concordia Girls 4x800M Relay team of Bridwell, Sophomore Rylie Jessup, Junior Aubrey Stahlman and Freshman Skye Johnson placed 4th overall in a time of 11:07.77.
On the boys side, Junior Kaide Gropp picked up two individual first place finishes on the day.
Gropp earned a 1st place finish in the Boys 100M Dash in a time of 11.61.
Gropp also captured a 1st place finish in the Boys 200M Dash in a time of 24.09.
In the Boys 400M Run, Gropp placed 3rd overall in a time of 54.30.
Gropp joined Freshmen Ryker Wildeman and Isaias Irigoyen and Junior Jagger Johnson on the Boys 4x100M Relay team that finished 1st in a time of 46.65.
Irigoyen recorded a 6th place finish in the Boys 300M Hurdles in a time of 48.54.
Irigoyen was also 6th overall in the Boys High Jump with a jump of 5' 6.
Irigoyen, Wildeman, Freshman Burke Kindel and Junior Dane Cleveland competed in the Boys 4x400M Relay. The team notched a 6th place finish in a time of 4:04.65.
Kindel scored a 4th place finish in the Boys Pole Vault with a vault of 11' 0.
Junior JJ Riley landed a 6th place finish in the Boys Javelin with a throw of 137' 1.
The Concordia High School Girls and Boys Track and Field teams travel to Abilene for an invite on Friday, April 19th.
