The 2025 softball regular season has come to an end for the Lady Panthers. Concordia traveled to Clay Center on Monday, May 12th, to take on the Tigers for a NCKL doubleheader to end the season. In game one, the Tigers won 5-2, and in game two, it was once again the Tigers emerging for the 6-1 victory.

After losing two games last week at Marysville, the Lady Panthers were looking for a little momentum going into the postseason against a Clay Center team that had been struggling with a 4-16 overall record, but the Tigers pounced first.

Jaylin Roush was on the circle for the Panthers, and after Concordia tied the game at 1 in the top of the 3rd, the Tigers got some offense going in the bottom half of the inning. Clay Center sent 7 batters to the plate, scoring 3 runs. Dumar had the big extra-base hit for Clay Center in the inning.

The Panthers were never able to get the bats going in game one. Katelyn Reedy walked in the third and came in to score on an extra base hit from Jaylin Roush. In the fifth, the Panther Senior Kinsleigh Bethune drew a walk and eventually came in to score on a groundball that allowed Camleigh Hake to reach safely on an error. This was the only offense the Panthers could muster.

The Tigers added a run in the 5th for a little bit more insurance and used their defense and pitching to hang on for only their fifth win of the year.

In game two, the Tigers once again got started quickly. Clay Center brought 8 batters to the plate in the first inning and jumped out to a 3-0 lead after a single and four walks drawn from Panther pitcher Benyshek.

Concordia only managed one run in game two, coming in the final inning. A leadoff double from Camleigh Hake, and she eventually scored after a groundout from Patterson.

The Panthers after the loss dropped to #15 in Class 4A West and will travel to NCKL foe #2 Chapman for game one of their regional. First pitch on Tuesday May 20th will be 25 minutes after the #7 Pratt and #10 Andale game.
