Concordia Softball and Baseball First Round Regional Games Postponed

Inclement weather has forced the postponement of the Concordia High School Softball team's game versus Marysville in the first round of the 2023 Kansas State High School Activities Association Class 3A Regional Softball Tournament in Concordia.

The two teams now will match up in the final game of the first round on Tuesday, May 16th.

The seven-team regional will see No. 4 Riley County (7-11) play No. 5 Plainville/Stockton (6-14) at 2 pm Tuesday.

No. 2 Minneapolis (14-6) will face off with No. 7 Russell/Victoria (3-17) 25-minutes after the conclusion of the Riley County and Plainville/Stockton game.

Concordia and Marysville will be the nightcap, with first pitch expected around 5:45 pm.  Live coverage of the game can be heard on 1390 KNCK, 98.3 FM and NCKToday.com.

Inclement weather also forced the postponement of the Concordia High School Baseball team's opening round game in the 2023 Kansas State High School Activities Association Class 3A Regional Baseball Tournament versus Rossville.  The game will now be played Tuesday, May 16th in Seneca.

All four regional tournament games will be played in one location, starting with Nemaha Central versus Minneapolis at 1 pm.  Game two will feature Silver Lake versus Marysville.  Sabetha will take on Riley County in the third game of the day, while Concordia and Rossville will face each other in the nightcap.

The Panthers concluded the regular season winning eight of their final twelve games, but were swept by the Clay Center Tigers, this year's North Central Kansas League champions, in their final doubleheader on May 9th.

The Rossville Bulldogs sit at 8-12 overall and have lost eight of their last nine, including dropping recent doubleheaders to Wamego, Sabetha and Rock Creek.
