Concordia Senior Cav Carlgren Named to Kansas Basketball Coaches Association All-Star Game

Cav Carlgren's superb senior season has been rewarded with a selection to the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association All-Star Game.

Carlgren, a 6-foot-2 guard, was named Concordia's Outstanding Senior Boys Basketball Player Award winner.  Carlgren led the team in scoring and rebounding at 18.7 points and 10.8 rebounds per game.  Carlgren also averaged 2.6 assists and 1.6 steals per game while shooting 50.6 percent from the field, including 57.0 percent from inside the arc.

Carlgren was also the recipient of the team's Ed Walters Free Throw Champion Award.  Carlgren connected on 130-of-155 free throw attempts for 83.9 percent shooting from the foul line.

This season, Carlgren was named Second Team All-State Class 4A by Sports in Kansas and Second Team All-VYPE Salina Area team.  He also was selected Honorable Mention All-State Class 4A and All-Academic All-State by the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association.

Carlgren has signed to play basketball next season at Cloud County Community College in Concordia.

This year's Kansas Basketball Coaches Association All-Star Game will be played June 18th at 7:30 pm at Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina.
