Concordia Powerlifters Compete in State Championships, Senior Keegun Beims Wins State Title

Concordia High School Senior Keegun Beims won a state championship in the heavyweight division at the 2024 3A State Powerlifting Championships held at Santa Fe Trail High School in Carbondale, Kansas on Saturday, March 23rd.

Beims won the individual bench press and clean titles and finished third overall in squat.

Beims finished 4th as a sophomore and 2nd as a junior before finally reaching the top of the podium in his final year.

Concordia had six student athletes compete at the state event.  The Concordia Boys recorded a 7th place finish as a team.

Junior JJ Riley finished 3rd overall in the 242 lbs. weight class, including posting a 3rd place finish in clean.

Also representing the Panthers in the 2024 3A State Powerlifting Championships was Frank Ayala, Kaide Gropp, Kyle McFadden, and Jori Letourneau.

Senior Jace Tholstrup, who finished 3rd as a junior, was unable to compete due to a shoulder injury.  Junior Nevaeh Valcoure, who finished 4th as a sophomore, was unable to compete due to injury.
