Concordia High School Baseball Team Drops Two Games to Minneapolis

Falling in both ends of a doubleheader, the Concordia High School Baseball team lost game one to Minneapolis 6-3, before falling 3-2 in eight innings in game two on Monday, May 9th at Lee Doyen Field at the Concordia Sports Complex.

The Lions used three unearned runs in game one to outscore the Panthers by three.  Braeden Primeaux threw 4 2/3 innings and picked up the loss.  Primeaux gave up 6 runs, 3 earned, off 5 hits while walking two and striking out five.  Dalton Owen, Stryker Hake and Payton Breese each had 2 hits in the game.

Game two saw Concordia out-hit Minneapolis 7-4 but only manage two runs in 31 at-bats.  Maddox Frey pitched 7 innings allowing 2 runs, 1 earned, off 3 hits while waking two and striking out eight batters.  Hake threw the 8th, giving up 1 run off 1 hit.

Frey and Owen each scored a run.  Breese finished 2-for-3 at the plate with 1 RBI.

Concordia has slipped to 2-13 on the season.

The Panthers wrap up their regular season on Tuesday, May 10th as they host the Clay Center Tigers in North Central Kansas League play.  First pitch of the first game of the doubleheader is scheduled for 4:30 pm.  Live coverage of the game can be heard on 1390 KNCK, 98.3 FM and NCKToday.com.
