Concordia Girls Tennis Opens Season at Ellsworth

The 2025 Concordia High School Girls' Tennis season officially began on Tuesday, September 2nd at the Ellsworth High School Women’s Varsity Invitational Tennis Tournament. Eight teams from across North Central Kansas officially got their season started, and a new look Panther squad was happy to begin.

"We had a nice weather day for tennis in Ellsworth," Head Girl's Tennis Coach John Turner said. "It is a nice tournament to play in with 8 schools competing."

Below are the individual Panther performances:

In #1 singles, Alexa Jordan finished in 8th. Jordan fell to Karli Haase of Ellsworth 8-1, Kaitlyn Leis of Smokey Valley 8-0, and Aissa Lorden of Trinity Catholic 8-1.

In #2 singles, Harley Weathersbee finished in 7th. Weathersbee fell to Hannah Vague of Ellsworth 8-0 and Emilia Auwaerter of Wheatland 8-3. She ended the day positively with a victory over Hazel Wuertz of Trinity Catholic.

In #1 doubles, the Panther team of Jori Letourneau and Kinzee Motes finished in 7th. The pair lost to Ellsworth 8-1 and Ellinwood 8-3. They ended the day with an 8-2 win over Trinity Catholic.

Finally, in #2 doubles, the Panther team of Bailey Conner and Lyllian McNutt finished in 8th. The duo lost to Ellsworth 8-0, Ellinwood 8-1, and Trinity Catholic 8-3.

The Panthers have a quick turnaround as they travel to Chapman on Thursday, September 4th, for the Irish Varsity Invite. The tournament will begin at 3 in the afternoon.
