Concordia Girls Tennis to Host Home Tournament
There is a great opportunity to show support for Panther athletes in Concordia on Thursday afternoon. The Concordia High School Girls Tennis team is hosting the Concordia Invite starting at 1 in the afternoon at the Jack Mitchell tennis courts located just southeast of the high school.
Teams from Beloit, Clay Center, Marysville, Wamego and Phillipsburg will all be traveling to compete in a pool play style tournament. Head Coach for Concordia John Turner joined KNCK's Coaches Corner on Thursday morning and shared about his teams excitement for this afternoon.
The Panthers are coming off of a weekend tournament in Clay Center, but because of how their tournament is laid out Concordia never got a chance to face off against any Tigers and so Turner shared the importance of today's Invite when looking ahead to the end of the season.
For those who are new to the sport and want to check out the tournament today in person Turner shared what to kind of expect from a spectator standpoint.
Concordia has been fighting tough in their tournaments all season long, but as is the case in other sports now is the time to start playing your best tennis. Turner shared what he hopes to see from his team this afternoon.
The Concordia Invite starts at 1 this afternoon at the Jack Mitchell Tennis Courts just southeast of the high school and hope to see a lot of Panther fans there to support. To hear the full interview with head coach John Turner on KNCK's Coaches Corner click here.
