Concordia Girls Golf Wins Home Invitational

On a hot and windy Tuesday morning, the Concordia Girls Golf team got their season started on their home course. The 2026 Concordia Invitational featured 5 teams from the North Central Kansas League, all looking to get their seasons started strong. The Lady Panthers took home the team title, while Senior Mya Niehues took home the individual title.

The Concordia Golf and Wellness course features a 9-hole course that the varsity golfers played twice for the 18-hole day. The par was set at 68. Due to the heat warnings in North Central Kansas, the invitational was moved to a 9 a.m. tee time rather than the original time scheduled for 1 p.m.

The 18-hole day ended at 2 p.m., and teams gathered in the clubhouse for the medal ceremony, where Concordia seniors Mya Niehues and Maddie Bowers were recognized for their 4 years at Concordia. The Lady Panthers will continue their season on Tuesday, September 8th, at the Salina Central Invite with a tee time set for 2 p.m. at the Salina Municipal Golf Course.
