During her Sophomore campaign, Mya Niehues finished in 10th in the entire state to represent Concordia High School. With such a strong finish, the 2026 Panthers were invited to tee off their season at the 4A Girls State Preview Tournament at the Carey Park Golf Course in Hutchinson.

On Thursday, August 28th, the new look Panthers started off the 2026 Concordia High School sports season with their opening tournament down in Hutchinson. The 18-hole varsity tournament featured the 16 teams that had representation at the 2024 4A State Golf Tournament last year. The Carey Park Golf Course in Hutchinson had the par set at 71 over a course of more than 5,000 yards. Below are the team standings:

"It was a wet course out there today, and we didn't get any of the bounce and roll that we have been afforded at home," said Head Girls Golf Coach Gene Rundus. "Between the limited number of practices that we have had and the absolutely soggy conditions today, I thought that the girls held up pretty well."

"Mya (80) repeated her 4th place finish from last year," Rundus said. "Presslee just missed breaking 100 in her very first tournament, and Anna, Maddie, Abby, and Bella all put together some holes to be proud of.  We finished 10th but just a few strokes out of what could have been 7th or 8th.  I am looking forward to our home tournament and believe that we will take what we learned today and have a great outing."

Concordia returns for its home invitational after the Labor Day Weekend. North Central Kansas schools will make their way to the Concordia Country Club on Tuesday afternoon with a tee off slated for 1 pm. The Panthers won their home invite last season.
