Concordia Girls Basketball Caps Season with Postseason Awards Banquet

The Concordia High School Girls Basketball team held its postseason awards banquet on Friday, March 22nd.

The Concordia High School Girls Basketball team concluded the 2023-2024 year at 13-9 overall, its first winning season since 2016-2017, and the program won a share of the 2024 North Central Kansas League title.

Concordia High School Sophomore Charlize Cash and Junior Taylor McDaniel were named First-Team All-NCKL selections.  Senior Carlie Carlgren received Honorable Mention All-League honors.

Cash was the team leader in points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocked shots.  Cash averaged 12.6 points per game on 52.0 percent shooting from the field, including 60.9 percent from inside the arc, while pulling down 5.8 rebounds, dishing out 4.2 assists, and recording 4.1 steals per game.  She also notched 7 blocks on the year.

Cash, the top free-throw shooter on the team at 75.4 percent, was honored at the banquet with the Karly Buer Free-Throw Award.

McDaniel averaged 10.5 points per game on a team-best 56.9 percent shooting from the floor.  McDaniel, who also averaged 5.5 rebounds per game, also went to the foul line more than any other Panthers this season, connecting on 57.5 percent from the free-throw line.

Carlgren averaged 5.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.6 steals and 1.3 assists per game.
