Concordia Baseball Team Snaps Five-Game Losing Skid with Doubleheader Sweep of Minneapolis

The Concordia High School Baseball team snapped a five-game losing skid with a home doubleheader sweep of Minneapolis on Friday, April 26th.  The Panthers won the first game 16-1 in three innings and took game two by a final score of 11-1 in five innings.

Senior Maddox Frey earned the win in game one.  Frey pitched all three innings and did not allow a hit or an earned run.  Frey walked one batter and struck out four.

The Panthers collected eight hits in the victory, including two each from Seniors Keegun Beims and Dustin Sterrett.  Beims and Junior Drew Sterrett each finished with three RBI.

Chane Parker captured the win on the mound in game two.  Parker threw four innings, striking out ten, walking one and giving up just one hit.  Senior Caleb Hanson pitched the fifth to earn the save.

Beims again had a two-hit performance with four RBI in game two.

The Panthers now sit at 5-11 on the season and 0-6 in North Central Kansas League action.  The team will resume league action on Tuesday, April 30th when they host the Marysville Bulldogs.  First pitch of the first game of the doubleheader is scheduled for 4:30 pm.
