Cloud County Community College Head Cheerleading Coach Stephanie Downie of Concordia is in Pittsburg, Kansas this week, helping to coach nearly 200 cheerleaders from across the state as part of the Kansas Shrine Bowl festivities that culminates with the July 23rd all-star high school senior, East vs. West, football game put on each year by the Kansas Shrine.

Downie is a Concordia native who cheered four years in high school.  She served as a team captain and was selected as an All-Star Cheerleader as a senior prior to briefly cheering at Fort Hays State University.

Upon returning to Concordia, Downie spent two seasons as a coach for Concordia Youth Cheer before she took over as the Head Coach of the Concordia High School cheer team in August of 2018, a position she held until this spring.

Downie was named the Head Cheer Coach at Cloud County Community College on January 31, 2019.

Downie was invited to be an assistant at this year's all-star game by Kansas Shrine Bowl Cheer Director Laura Klima-Fehr.
