Cloud County's Nontokozo Ncube, Kamogelo Thipe Named KJCCC Track Athletes of the Week

Cloud County Community College track and field athletes Nontokozo Ncube and Kamogelo Thipe have both been named Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Track Athletes of the Week for their performances at last week's KU Relays.

Ncube was part of two school-record performances, running a time of 2:09.62 in the 800 meters to take third in the event and the number three time in the NJCAA before going on to anchor the 4x800 meter relay team that ran a time of 9:03.69 which not only set the T-Bird school record but came as the number three all-time performance in NJCAA history in the event.

Thipe also earns KJCCC Athlete of the Week honors after a strong performance in the 800 meters, running a time of 1:51.19 to take fourth overall and second among college athletes at the KU Relays while also helping the 4x800 meter relay team for CCCC run a time of 7:45.12 and qualify for the 2024 NJCAA Outdoor Track Championships in May.
