Cloud County's Corey Ottey Named KJCCC Men's Field Athlete of the Week

Recording a new season-best mark in the high jump at the Kansas State University Ward Haylett Invitational, Cloud County Community College men's track and field athlete Corey Ottey has been named the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference men's field Athlete of the Week.

Recording a mark of 2.10 meters (6 ft. - 10.75 in.) in the high jump to place fourth in a meet that featured four NCAA Division I schools, Ottey's mark currently ranks third in the NJCAA and is the second-best mark among KJCCC athletes this season in the event. The national qualifying mark is one of 21 marks that have been recorded by the T-Bird men's track and field team that have qualified for the 2024 NJCAA Division I Outdoor Track Championships in Monroe, Louisiana.

Ottey is the fourth different Cloud County men's track and field athlete to earn KJCCC Athlete of the Week honors during the 2024 outdoor track and field season.
