Cloud County Volleyball to Host July Summer Camps

Cloud County Community College head volleyball coach Hilta Ramos has announced that the T-Bird volleyball team will host a variety of camps and other skill sessions throughout July inside Arley Bryant Gymnasium.

Highlighting the month is the annual T-Bird volleyball camps set to take place July 29-31 with each day set for different age groups and skill levels.

Beginning on Monday, July 29th is the Biddy Bird camp designed for those entering grades K-3 with the camp taking place from 9-11 AM followed by the Beginners Junior Bird Camp that is designed for those who have no or very little volleyball experience or instruction (approximate age range grades 4-8) taking place from 1:30-4:30 PM.  Tuesday, July 30th will feature the Intermediate T-Bird Camp and is designed for those who have had some formal exposure to volleyball (school or club playing experience) and is set for an approximate age range of grades 6-9.  The camp will be split into two sessions from 9 AM - 12 PM and 1:30 PM - 4:30 PM.  The final camp is the Advanced T-Bird camp on Wednesday, July 31st, and is set for those who want to continue to refine their volleyball skills and are ready to work on more advanced skills with an approximate age range of grades 8-12.  The camp will also take place in two sessions from 9 AM - 12 PM and again from 1:30 PM - 4:30 PM on the 31st.

All four camps offered are commuter camps with those participating in the full-day camps able to bring their own sack lunch and stay on the campus of Cloud County Community College between sessions if they choose to do so.  All campers need to bring gym shorts, shoes, knee pads, and water bottles to the camp.

In addition to the camps, Coach Ramos and the T-Bird coaching staff will host position camps on select Mondays in July (July 8, 15, and 22) with the schedule as follows:
Setters - 9 AM - 10:30 AM
Libero/DS - 10:30 AM - 12 PM
Outside/Right Side Hitters - 1 PM - 2:30 PM
Middles - 2:30 PM - 4 PM

The position camps are for those entering grades 7-12 this coming school year and cost $25 per session or at a discounted rate of $70 to attend all three of the position sessions throughout the month.  Payment can be made on the day of the camp along with the signing of a camp waiver that is required to participate.

Also taking place on July 8, 15, and 22 will be an open gym session for those entering grades 9-12 with the open gym taking place from 6 PM - 8 PM each night.  There is no cost to attend the open gym, but all participating athletes will need to fill out and bring a signed waiver to participate.  Each night, players will be assigned a team of 6-8 players at arrival with the teams playing in competition throughout the evening.
