Cloud County Freshman Abdelaziz Benbrahim Sets New School Record at Steve Miller Invitational

Cloud County Community College freshman Abdelaziz Benbrahim established a new school mark at the Steve Miller Invitational in Manhattan, Kansas on Friday, February 7.
Benbrahim, a freshman from Marrakesh, Morocco, set a new program record in the Men's 1,000M Run when he crossed at 2:25.40. Benbrahim broke the record of 2:26.18 previously set by Kenyi Santino in 2020.
Benbrahim took first in the race, finishing ahead of Arkansas State freshman Kamil Przybyla (2:26.05) and Kansas State senior Alex Gutierrez (2:27.04). It marks the second event win for Benbrahim this season after he finished in first place in the 800M run in a national qualifying time of 1:53.01 at the NAIA/Juco Challenge in Pittsburg, Kansas on January 25.
Benbrahim was the only T-Bird track athlete to compete in the Steve Miller Invitational, which was held at the Cliff Rovelto Indoor Track.
