The Concordia High School Cross Country team held their postseason awards banquet Tuesday, November 22nd.

Concordia High School Senior Moyra Barnes received the Brent Newton Award for the second consecutive year.  The award is given to the runner that inspires hard work, desire, spirit, and heart in their teammates by working hard in every meet and practice and has a true love and dedication to the sport of cross country.

Sophomore Aubrey Stahlman was the Number One Runner - Girls award winner, while Freshman Draven Luecke was the Number One Runner - Boys award recipient.

Junior High runner Skye Johnson received the "I Challenge You" award from Coach Rick Haden.

Major Letter winners on this year’s cross-country team were: Moyra Barnes, Megan Barr, Aubrey Stahlman, Draven Luecke, and Joel Gross

Participation Awards: Gunner Barnes and Caidence Buttman

6th grade runners that received participation awards were: Sophia Fraley, Skylah Garst, Preslee Marsh, Sydney Stephens, Ruby Trost, and Trigg Fraser

7th grade runners and Junior High runners that received participation awards were: Bailey Conner, Ashlynn James, Addison Schreiber and Daniel Reedy

8th grade runners that received participation awards: Hannah Bridwell, Mya Niehues, Skye Johnson, Quinn Kymer, and Brody Marsh

“I’m encouraged with the current runners that we have and the success that our young Junior High runners had this season.  I anticipate that we will have several more quality runners coming into the program next year.  We have a promising group of runners that have talent and potential to do amazing things,” Coach Haden said.  “In the next few years, I expect that we will be a strong and vibrant cross-country team and that’s exciting.”
