2024 KJCCC Division 1 Volleyball Players of the Week - Week 2
COLBY, Kan. – Hutchinson Community College freshman Viktoria Graf along with Colby’s Amanda Caputi and Camila Canedo have earned Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division 1 Volleyball Players of the Week for week two of the 2024 volleyball season.
Offensive Player of the Week (Viktoria Graf - Hutchinson) - Blue Dragon outside hitter Viktoria Graf had a huge week for Hutchinson, averaging a .249 attack percentage on 3.67 kills per set. Graf had a career-high 27 kills while hitting .396 in Hutchinson's five-set victory over Lamar. She posted her first career double-double with 12 kills and 10 digs in a five-set victory over number nine-ranked Indian Hills. Graf had three double-doubles in five matches last week against Indian Hills, Western Nebraska (18 kills, 14 digs), and North Platte (12 kills, a career-high 18 digs).
Setter of the Week (Amanda Caputi - Colby) – Helping Colby to a 3-1 overall record last weekend at the Laramie County Community College Mariott SpringHill Suites Cheyenne Invitational which included a win over number 19-ranked Eastern Florida State College, Caputi helped set the offense by playing in all 18 sets and averaging 10.17 assists per set. Adding 24 digs, five service aces, and 13 total blocks, Caputi and the Trojans added wins over Trinidad State and host Laramie County with their lone loss coming to number three-ranked Northeastern Junior College.
Defensive Player of the Week (Camila Canedo - Colby) – Canedo tallied 88 digs over four matches, averaging 4.89 digs per set over the weekend at the Laramie County Community College Mariott SpringHill Suites Cheyenne Invitational. Putting up a solid performance in serve receive by passing a 2.2 on 65 attempts, Canedo added four service aces over the weekend and helped Colby to three wins including a victory over number 19-ranked Eastern Florida State College to go along with wins over Trinidad State and Laramie County.
