Dorothy Dee Schuyler

Dorothy Dee Schuyler, 88, of Holton, KS, passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at The Pines South.  She was born March 5, 1936 in Green Ridge, MO, the daughter of James Irwin and Ethel Christine (Wade) Hile.

Dorothy graduated from Washington High School in 1954 at Piper, KS and attended Kansas University and Missouri Central State University.

She was a homemaker and had worked as a librarian.  Dorothy was an artist and she was very creative.  She had a love for art.

She married Roy Douglas “Doug” Schuyler on November 14, 1958; they celebrated over 63 years of marriage before his passing on October 7, 2021.  She was also preceded in death by her parents, James and Ethel Hile; sister, Christine Hile and brother, Robert Hile.

Survivors include 2 sons, Jeff Schuyler (Astrid) of Waldorf, MD and Kurt Schuyler (Robin) of Holton, KS; 2 brothers, James C. “Jack” Hile of Grandview, MO and Ralph Dale Hile (Mary Anne) of Shawnee, KS; 3 grandchildren, David Schuyler, Amanda Jennison (Todd) and Hannah McNeal (George) and 4 great-grandchildren, Emma, Jackson, Adeline and Ellie.
