Colleen M. Golden

Colleen Margo Golden, daughter of Maurice U. Golden and Helen A. L. (Foster) Golden, was born on April 26, 1940, in Gary, Indiana, and passed away on January 7, 2025, at the Belleville Health Care Center in Belleville, Kansas, at the age of 84.
Colleen spent her early years on her family’s farms in Jewell and Corydon, Iowa. She attended school in Corydon and graduated from Corydon High School. After graduation, she began a career as a secretary, working in the insurance, publishing, marketing, and meat corporation industries. Her work took her to Des Moines, Iowa; Chicago, Illinois; and several cities and towns across Colorado.
Colleen shared her life with Ronald Cardwell, Kenneth Wallace, and Ivan (Levi) Haswell, and later enjoyed companionship with LeeRay Faulk. She and Levi moved to Belleville, Kansas, where Colleen worked for Precision Dynamics. After retiring, she chose to settle in Belleville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Maurice and Helen Golden.
Colleen is survived by her children, Jeffrey (Amy) Wallace of Arizona and Shawn Amber (Wallace) Barnello of Colorado; her granddaughter, Britni Barnello Maier of Colorado; her three grandsons, Elijah, Bailey, and Noah Wallace of Colorado and Nebraska; her sister, Maureen (Golden) Niday of Florida; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home in Belleville, Kansas.
Memorials are suggested to the World Wildlife Fund and may be sent in her honor.
