Billie Jo Junek, the daughter of Larry Dean Krob and Georgia Jo (Cross) Krob, was born October 10, 1962 in Del Rio, TX and passed away on January 30, 2025 at the CHI Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, NE at the age of 62.

Billie Jo grew up in a military family, living many places, mainly in the Dallas, Texas area.    She later graduated from Hillcrest High School, in Cuba, Kansas.

In 1979, she was united in marriage to Rick Junek and one daughter, Amy, was born to this union.    They were later divorced.

Billie Jo worked as a caretaker and assistant at the State Mental Facility in Wichita Falls Texas and also at Timberlawn Mental Hospital.     She later moved to Salina, Kansas where she was a caretaker at the St Francis Ministries Foster Care Home.     Billie Jo returned to Cuba, Kansas where she was a bartender in Glasco, KS and later operated the Cuba Cafe’ for several years.

Honoring her wishes, Billie Jo was an organ and tissue donor.

She was preceded in death by her father, Larry Krob, and her sister Beverly Krob.

Billie Jo is survived by her daughter, Amy (Tommy) Jackson of Cuba, KS; granddaughter, Alyssa Junek; Mother, Jo Krob of Concordia, KS;  Siblings: Donna (Tom) Segebart of Council Grove, Kansas, Rita Eakins (Troy Lesovsky) of Cuba, Kansas, Rhonda (Brian) Coffman of Agenda, KS, and Larry D. (Wanda) Krob, Jr of Palestine, TX; multiple nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

A graveside celebration of life services for friends and family will be conducted by the family at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 5, at the National Bohemian (Kopsa) Cemetery, in rural Cuba, Kansas. A luncheon for the family will follow at the Cuba Community Center in Cuba, Kansas.
