Anthony “Tony” Roy Anderson, Sr., age 62, entered into rest on Sunday, May 21, 2023 in Concordia, Kansas.  He was born on December 1, 1960 in Concordia, Kansas to Roy and Kay (Menard) Anderson.

Anthony was a 1979 graduate of Concordia High School, Concordia, Kansas.

He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, in Concordia, KS.

He married Marsha Jones on September 16, 1989 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. This 34 year union brought one child, Anthony, Jr.

Anthony worked construction for a few years before becoming a CNA at Mt. Joseph Senior Living. He stayed there for over 20 years, earning his Rehabilitation Certificate. He then worked at Minneapolis Long Term Living as the Rehabilitation Coordinator until a devastating car accident changed his life forever. He also proudly served as a volunteer fire fighter and EMT from 1992 to 2002.

Tony loved the outdoors. Hunting and fishing were the two things that he enjoyed doing with his son, Anthony until his death in 2015. He still enjoyed doing activities with his wife, Marsha, until it became too difficult due to his health. Tony took pride in his yard. It was covered in flowers that gave a wonderful scent whenever the door was opened. After his son passed away his health began to decline, but Tony worked hard at whatever he did, at times paying for it in the days following. He was very talented in the art of crochet, knitting, tatting (self-taught), bobbin lace, and cross stitch. He had a massive yarn collection and made many treasured creations including hats for premature babies. His last project was a blanket that his mom had started years ago.

Tony loved his family dearly and the loss of his son, father, and mother-in-law devastated him more than anyone realized. Though he rarely conveyed his thoughts or shared his feelings, it was apparent that those deaths hit him very hard.

Tony will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife Marsha Anderson, Concordia, KS; his mother, Kay Anderson, Hebron, NE; brother, Steven Anderson (Susan) Hebron, NE; sister, Lesa Bugbee (LaVern) Fairbury, NE; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded by his father, Roy, a son, Anthony, Jr., and mother-in-law, Nancy Jones.
