Wakefield Man Suffers Fatal Injuries in Two-Vehicle Accident in Washington County

A Wakefield man suffered fatal injuries in a two-vehicle accident in Washington County on Friday, December 8th.

According to a report from the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 1986 GMC S Truck driven by 23-year-old Hunter Wohlbrandt of Wakefield was traveling southbound on KS-119 around one mile south of Greenleaf.  Wohlbrandt failed to stop at a stop sign prior to entering the intersection of KS-119 and KS-9, and his vehicle was struck by a 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by 15-year-old Lindsay Gray of Waterville.

The accident occurred at 4:38 pm Friday.

Wohlbrandt, who was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, was taken to Bryan Medical Center West Campus in Lincoln, Nebraska where he was later pronounced dead.

Gray and passenger Brian Gray, 47 of Waterville, were taken to Washington County Hospital for suspected minor injuries.  Both were wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash.
