Cloud County Health Center Auxiliary is pleased to announce their healthcare scholarship recipients for 2022.  This year two scholarships were awarded: Shelby Giersch and Jordyn Scott each received $1,000.

Shelby is a graduate of Concordia High School and plans to attend Kansas Wesleyan University majoring in Biology.  He plans to pursue a career in physical therapy or podiatry.  Why a medical field?  Shelby said he has always wanted to help people ever since he was little.  He cited three important reasons for choosing a medical field – “helping others, having a variety of tasks from day to day, and always learning new things.”  Shelby is the son of Jennifer & Shannon Giersch.

Jordyn attends Kansas Wesleyan University in the nursing program and will graduate in 2023.  She is a graduate of Miltonvale High School.  Jordyn feels nursing is more than helping people.  She says, “I want people to not only be healthy but happy; I want to care for their emotional and mental wellbeing.”  Jordyn is the daughter of Darren & Angela Bates and the late Brad Scott.

CCHC Auxiliary encourages healthcare career choices by awarding scholarships each year to students who are entering a medical field of study.
