Republic County Community Foundation Awards Over $86,000 in Spring Grants

During its spring grant cycle, the Republic County Community Foundation awarded over $86,000 to 15 projects throughout Republic County.  The following organizations received funding:

  • Republic County 4-H, $13,111.21 to support improvements to the 4-H building to make it safe.
  • USD 109, $825.00 to support incentives for each child as they complete their miles for the school marathon.
  • Belleville Chamber of Commerce-Belleville High Banks, $25,000 to support the building of the Belleville High Banks handicap accessibility ramp.
  • Belleville Main Street, $435.00 to purchase a SHURE microphone, transmitter and receiver to replace the current system.
  • Blair Center for the Arts Foundation, $7,543.60 will support the 2024 “No School” Summer movie series.
  • City of Scandia, $8,500.00 will support repairs to the concrete walls for the Scandia Recreation Project.
  • Republic County Czech Club, $1,500.00 will support the purchase of a custom display case for the Cuba Heritage Center and signage.
  • Faithworks – Republic County Resource Council, $5,000.00 will support mental health services in Republic County.
  • Church People Concerned Foundation, $3,000.00 will support the replacement of flooring.
  • Republic County Hospital, $2,500.00 will support the Youth Safety and Preparedness Camp.
  • NCK Free Fair, $6,120.00 to purchase and install a new garage door for the Commercial Building.
  • City of Belleville, $800.00 to purchase supplies and prizes for two fishing tournaments.
  • USD 109, $5,000.00 to purchase football equipment for Republic County.
  • Distinguished Young Women of Kansas - $7,000 to purchase wireless microphones, storage rack cases, and power supplies.

This round of grants was made possible by four funds at the foundation: Dane G. Hansen Community Grant Fund and the Republic County Community Action fund, which both support projects and programs that improve the community’s quality of life; the Kansas Health Foundation Fund for Republic County and Republic Public Health Fund which support the public health of Republic County.
