OCCK Transportation Enhances Community Mobility with New Mobility Hub and Wayfinding Signage

In all its connecting ways, OCCK Transportation recently announced installing new mobility hubs and wayfinding signage to improve walking and biking experiences in North Central Kansas.
According to a press release, the initiative focuses on ways "to promote active transportation, enhance connectivity and encourage healthier lifestyles for residents and visitors alike."
OCCK Transportation faculty installed the new mobility hub information at six different locations: Casey's in Minneapolis, the junction of U.S. Highways 81 and 24, Cloud County Community College (CCCC), Seventh and Washington streets in Concordia, the Republic County Courthouse in Belleville and the Casey's in Belleville.
Kansas Mobility Management Director of Mobility Management for North Central Kansas Michelle Coats said residents and visitors can find multiple options for public transportation at each mobility hub, alongside biking and walking options for the area. The signage at the hub will show what services are available in that location.
Coats said that OCCK Transportation began looking into mobility hubs after researching different ways to assist residents and visitors who utilize public transportation with their journies' first and last miles.
The wayfinding signage will provide various amenities the community offers alongside distances to the various furnishings of the town.
The press release states the project will be funded by local funds and grants from the Kansas Department of Transportation's (KDOT) Access, Innovation and Collaboration program.
