The brand new North Central Kansas Medical Center opened its doors in Concordia this week, ready to take patients and provide care.

In an effort to meet the growing health care needs of the community, Cloud County Health Center broke ground on a new single-story, state-of-the-art health care facility in Concordia in March of 2021.  The new facility, North Central Kansas Medical Center, is located close to US Highway 81 along College Drive and opened its doors on Wednesday, November 16th.

Administrator Dave Garnas says the move to the new hospital has been highly anticipated by the citizens of the North Central Kansas region and is very exciting.

The hospital asked for the community's assistance to help them move as they relocated to the new hospital this week, and Garnas told KNCK News they were overwhelmed by the response and the love the community has shown.

Inside the new 76,000-square-foot hospital, North Central Kansas Medical Center has fourteen inpatient beds, 24/7 emergency department, a modern surgery suite for expanded surgical procedures, and outpatient services including a variety of pain management services and a wound care clinic.

The facility also includes the rural health clinic, the Family Care Center, which is staffed with seven providers offering appointments and a walk-in clinic with all appurtenant services such as Lab and Diagnostic Imaging.

The new, larger Rehabilitation Department provides physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology and aquatic therapy, as well as additional modalities for cardiac rehabilitation patients.
