Several constellations and planets will be visible at Cloud County Community College’s star party Saturday, March 18th from 8 pm to 10 pm at the Earl Bane Observatory on the college's Concordia campus.

The spring sky will be shining with several sights: Venus, the brightest planet in the solar system; Mars, the Red Planet; Sirius, the brightest star in the night sky; Castor and Pollux, the Gemini Twins; and Leo the Lion, the constellation that signifies the spring season.

In the event of unfavorable weather, a movie about the seasons will be shown in the Observatory Theater.

Those planning to attend the star party are asked park in lot one at the college.  The Observatory is located on the southwest corner of campus, near the Thunder Heights dormitory.

Contact Dennis Smith at the college, (785) 243-1435, ext. 223, with questions.
