Kansas Highway Patrol Reports Independence Day Holiday Activity
The Kansas Highway Patrol has released its Independence Day Holiday Activity Report. The reporting period for the holiday ran from 6 pm on Wednesday, July 3rd to 11:59 pm on Sunday, July 7th.
The Kansas Highway Patrol worked no fatal crashes over the holiday.
According to their 2024 enforcement data, the Kansas Highway Patrol made 16 DUI arrests, down from 31 in 2023. 1,085 speed citations and 909 speed warnings were issued. 149 safety belt citations were issued, as well as 28 child restraint citations. And Kansas Highway Patrol personnel assisted 901 motorists over the holiday reporting period.
