The Grind Coffee House Brings Fresh Brews and New Beginnings to Concordia

A crowd of Concordia business leaders and professionals gathered at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 30, to officially welcome The Grind Coffee House to the city.
Behind the coffee counter, The Grind General Manager Sandy Fuller filled the morning's coffee orders while additional staff filled free samples of scones, breakfast burritos and biscuits and gravy.
Jordan Budreau, CEO and president of 12x12 Recovery, purchased the building at 104 East Seventh Street, which used to be Common Grounds Coffee House.
They refurbished it to create a Women's House for the recovery organization. Still, they kept the coffee equipment in the basement to reopen it as The Grind Coffee House.
Concordia Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Annie Bergmann arrived with the Scissors of Success as guests wandered around the coffee shop. At 10 a.m. sharp, Budreau cut the ribbon to celebrate the new business.
Budreau said he's excited about the coffee shop's next update, which will include adding a drive-thru and refurbishing the historic building's exterior.
