Nex-Tech recently celebrated the aspirations of three promising students, marking a milestone in their journey with a signing day event.  These students, beneficiaries of the Technology Education Sponsorship, took a leap towards their future tech careers at Nex-Tech.  This pivotal program, a collaboration with NCK Tech, generously funds tuition and books for students delving into Telecommunications & Network Technology or Information Technology.  An internship at Nex-Tech bridges their academic pursuits with real-world experience.  Upon successful completion of the program, these students will proudly join the Nex-Tech family, ready to innovate and excel.

Pursuing their degrees in Telecommunication & Network Technology are recipients Derrick Schneider, son of Bryce and Kelse Schneider, of Hill City, KS, and Jonathan VanCampen, son of Amanda Schmidt and Graig Ohl, of Hays, KS. Tynan Dempsey, son of Justin and Cheryl Dempsey, of Hays, KS, will pursue his degree in Information Technology.

Kevin Karlin, a former Nex-Tech employee, and Xavier Bouray will teach the Telecommunications & Network Technology curriculum.

“This is Nex-Tech’s third year sponsoring Telecommunications and Technology students at NCK Tech.  We celebrated the success of the first graduating class earlier this year.  Our workforce demand continues to exceed the supply in our region.  We welcome Derrick, Jonathan, and Tynan as the latest inductees into the sponsorship program.” said Mike Pollock, Nex-Tech’s Chief Operating Officer.

Corey Isbell, Ed.D, VP of Student and Instructional Services at NCK Tech added, “Nex-Tech’s willingness to invest in our students’ education is an innovative solution to their workforce shortage.  The partnership between NCK Tech and Nex-Tech demonstrates what can be done when two institutions make a commitment to help students succeed.  The pathway to success is very clear for students in our Telecommunications program thanks to innovative businesses like Nex-Tech.”

The three ambitious students are thrilled to receive sponsorships, igniting their journey toward success.  “This sponsorship gives me an opportunity to grow my skills and knowledge in telecommunications, while also growing my ability and curiosity,” stated Johnathan VanCampen.  Derrick Schnieder shared, “I am excited to further my career in the telecommunications industry and gain all the skills needed for my future.”  Tynan Dempsey shared what the sponsorship meant to him, “I am excited about this technology sponsorship as it will open many paths for my future.”
