Concordia Police: Key Dates to Remember as New School Year Inches Closer
With the first day of school fast approaching, the Concordia Police Department has some key dates to remember to ensure the safety of students.
Starting August 7, flashing 20 mph signs on 6th Street by Concordia Middle School will be activated to remind drivers of the school zone.
On August 9, all 20 mph school zones go into effect at K-12 schools and will be strictly enforced. This will be the first day school for some students.
The first day of school for all K-12 students is August 13. The Concordia Police Department will have an increased presence to enforce school zones.
Concordia Police Chief Brent Gering asks everyone to keep these dates in mind and assist officers in maintaining safety of our children. He appreciates your cooperation and support in making this school year a safe and successful one.
