Concordia Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting and Open House Scheduled

The Concordia Chamber of Commerce has announced plans to hold an Open House Wednesday, August 24th at their newly renovated location at 207 West 6th Street in downtown Concordia.

The Concordia Chamber of Commerce expanded their space to the new location in August 2020.

Concordia Chamber Director Annie Bergmann says Chamber members and guests are welcome to tour the space.

That same day, from 12:30 pm to 1 pm, the Concordia Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual meeting for members only.  Members will have an opportunity to make new business contacts, renew acquaintances, and meet new members.

Bergmann says the day will conclude with a Business After Hours for Chamber members.

The first chamber of commerce was organized in Concordia in 1879 and called the Board of Trade.  In 1900 it was organized as the Concordia Commercial Club, which in 1918 became the Chamber of Commerce.

As stated in the original charter, the purpose of the organization is to foster industrial and commercial advancements and to make Concordia a better place to live.
