Cloud County Proclaims May 2024 as Mental Health Awareness Month

The Cloud County Commission has proclaimed May 2024 as Mental Health Awareness Month, calling upon the businesses, schools, government agencies, healthcare providers, organizations and citizens of Cloud County to recommit to increasing awareness and understanding of mental health, its relationship to a strong, vibrant community, the steps citizens can take to protect their mental health, and the need for appropriate and accessible services for all people with mental health conditions.

One in five American adults experiences a mental health condition each year, and everyone faces challenges in life that can impact their mental health.

Despite its prevalence, mental health remains shrouded in stigma, preventing many from seeking help.

Early intervention and access to quality care are crucial for managing mental health conditions and improving quality of life.
