Throughout November, community foundations across the region plan to initiate Match Month, with the Community Foundation for Cloud County joining in with a 300% match for their Impact Fund.

Alongside this 300% match, eligible individual funds will receive a 100% match for all funds raised. These funds focus on groups or community members' passions in the area.

That's the key to Match Month—a community foundation asks its residents for donations, while donors like the Dane G. Hanson Foundation match each donation up to a certain amount.

This year, the Dane G. Hanson Foundation plans to match each donated up to $50,000.

What does a 300% match do for donated funds? It quadruples the entire amount donated, meaning $100 becomes $400.

According to Community Foundation for Cloud County Executive Director Brenda Gilliland, the Patterson Family Foundation plans to 100% match the individual eligible funds up to $20,000. Once the community donates enough to meet the $20,000 threshold, the community foundation will distribute funds evenly to the various funds.

Although the foundation will hold the fundraiser all month, staff and volunteers plan to meet on Monday, Nov. 4, at the Co-op Distribution Center Meeting Room at 1401 East Sixth Street for a Kickoff Event.

Gilliland said that from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., local organizations, businesses and residents can visit the Cloud County Co-op Distribution Center to donate to the cause or causes of their choice.

During the middle of the day, beginning mid-morning, Gilliland said different organizations affected by the Impact Fund or various other funds will visit the Center to share what they do for the community and how they plan to continue providing their services.

Match Month begins on Nov. 1 and concludes on Nov. 30. Gilliland said there are multiple ways to donate to the various funds, including in person during the Kickoff Event, by mail to P.O. Box 213, Concordia, KS 66901 or online at communityfoundationforcloudcounty.org.
