Cloud County Fair "Mooving Forward Together" without Carnival Rides in 2022
Carnival rides will be absent this year when the Cloud County Fair opens in July.
The Cloud County Fair Board had originally planned to feature carnival rides as a part of their fair package this year, but they were notified by their carnival provider, WEEE Entertainment of Ford, Kansas, in February that they will not be back.
Cloud County Fair Board member Stacey Forshee says they worked countless hours to attempt to locate and secure a carnival for 2022 but were unsuccessful.
Forshee tells KNCK News they are actively seeking a new carnival ride provider for next year's festivities.
In the carnival's place, the Cloud County Fair will have inflatables and activities available for the kids at no charge during three nights of the fair.
The Cloud County Fair dates are July 5th through July 9th at the Cloud County Fairgrounds in Concordia.
Events scheduled so far include Mutton Bustin' at the NCK Saddle Club Arena at 7 pm on July 5th; a Baby Show at the Ayres Shelter Arena at 6:30 pm on July 8th; the two-night NCK Saddle Club Rodeo at 7:30 pm on July 8th and July 9th; live music from the Salina-based classic rock cover band The Soul Preachers at 9 pm on July 8th; a Cornhole Tournament at 11:30 am on July 9th; a Pedal Tractor Pull at 12:30 pm on July 9th; and live music from the Manhattan-based rock/blues band M-31 at 9 pm on July 9th.
According to the Cloud County Fair schedule, the judging of 4-H fiber arts, arts and crafts projects, as well as all fashion revue judging will be done before the fair on Wednesday, June 29th. Other projects will be judged on July 5th and July 6th. The livestock judging contest will take place at 7 pm on July 7th, while this year's 4-H & FFA Livestock Auction will be held at 6 pm on July 8th in the Show Arena.
Forshee says don't let the absence of a carnival stop you from supporting the fair.
The theme for the 2022 Cloud County Fair is "Mooving Forward Together."
