Cloud County Fair Board Holding "Cruise In & Pig Out" BBQ Cook-Off Competition July 9th

Cloud County grillers can earn some bragging rights at this year's Cloud County Fair.

The Cloud County Fair Board is holding a "Cruise In & Pig Out Cook-Off" BBQ contest on Saturday, July 9th at the Cloud County Fairgrounds.  The event will be held in conjunction with the Heartland Auto Club's Antique Tractor and Car Show.

Entry to the competition is $50 per team.  The deadline for entry is July 6th.

Stacey Forshee with the Cloud County Fair Board says four categories are included in the competition.

Each entry will be judged on appearance, taste/flavor, tenderness/texture.  Meat may be sauced or un-sauced.

Contestants in each of the four categories will have the opportunity to win $300 for 1st place, $200 for 2nd place, and $100 for 3rd place.

Forshee says 150 plates will be made available to the public, who will judge the $200 People's Choice Award.

The People's Choice Award judging will take place at 6 pm on Saturday, July 9th.

Forshee tells KNCK News pre-sale tickets are available, starting this week, at Rod's Food Store, United Bank & Trust and Citizens National Bank in Concordia, and at the Clyde Ideal Market.

Check-in for the competition will take place at the Cloud County Fairgrounds on Friday, July 8th from 7 pm to 9 pm, and Saturday, July 9th at 7 am.
