Cloud County Community College's Theatre Department will present its fall play, "Picasso at the Lapin Agile," by Steve Martin, November 30th and December 1st and 2nd in Cook Theatre on the college's Concordia campus.

Showtime will be at 7 pm each night.  Tickets are $5, but Cloud County students will be admitted free.

The play is directed by Cloud County's new theatre instructor, Julia Burr-Roveti.  Burr-Roveti comes to Cloud from Chesapeake College in Maryland, where she taught composition and literature and tutored all age students at local public and private schools.

In the play, the characters of Albert Einstein and Pablo Picasso meet at a bar called the Lapin Agile in Paris.  At the bar, they have a lengthy debate about the value of genius and talent, while interacting with a host of other characters.

The cast for the play includes: Freddy, Warren Abonza, Manhattan; Gaston, David Shirkey, Concordia; Germaine, Kesiena Lesso, Nigeria; Albert Einstein, Luka Hayes, Salina; Suzanne and Sagot, Jeremiah Johnson, Salina; Pablo Picasso, Ashlynn Cramer, Collyer, Kan.; Schmendiman, Caleb Hays, St. George, Kan.; The Countess, Natalie Phillips, Herington, Kan., A Female Admirer, Caleb Hays; and Visitor, Brent Phillips, Concordia.

Natalie Phillips, a first-year student at Cloud County, will play The Countess.  She told KNCK News the role is different from the ones she is used to playing.

Natalie says joining the theatre program at Cloud has been rewarding, including providing her the opportunity to connect with students and others on campus.
