Authors Dena Bisnette and Joe Gilliam to Hold Photo Scanning Event for New Book at Fall Fest

Dena Bisnette and Joe Gilliam, authors of a new Arcadia Publishing book about places in Concordia, invite the public to bring vintage photos of places they enjoy remembering to Fall Fest in Concordia on Saturday, September 23rd.
If the photographs suit the requirements of Arcadia Publishing, which has scheduled the book for release in 2025, the two authors will scan the photos at the festival and will return them immediately.
Bisnette and Gilliam previously wrote “Images of America: Concordia,” and the new book will be called “Concordia: Past And Present.”
Bisnette tells KNCK News the new book is a slightly different format from the previous one.
The two will be set up near the Concordia Chamber of Commerce and would like people to stop by and enter a contest for the cover photo. Arcadia Publishing will make the final decision, but the authors can decide which photos to submit for consideration.
Bisnette told KNCK News they are looking for photos of locations that are either important to the town's history or are something people will remember seeing or hearing the older folks talk about.
Copies of the book, “Images Of America: Concordia,” will be for sale at Fall Fest.
Anyone who can not attend but would like to participate in the contest can e-mail bisnette@gmail.com to nominate a cover subject. Suggestions for other photos that you feel should be in the book but might not make a good cover design are also welcome.
