Area Youth Invited to Cloud County Community College's Annual Kid's College

After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, Cloud County Community College’s Kid’s College is back this summer.  Area youth in first through sixth grade are invited to attend the 11th event on the Concordia campus.  Kid’s College for students in fourth, fifth and sixth grades will be July 11th and 12th, and those in first, second and third grades will attend on July 13th and 14th.

Fourth, fifth and sixth graders will begin their days at 9 am, and finish at 4 pm.  There will be three class sessions – the first from 9-11 am, the second from 11 am-2 pm with a one hour lunch break, and the third from 2-4 pm.  Lunch will be provided by the college.  Cost for 4th-6th graders will be $30, which includes a T-shirt, enrollment in three classes, and lunch.

Classes to be offered for 4th-6th grade Kid’s College will be: Renewable Energy, Drones, Exploring Music, Art, Mad Science, Introduction to Performing Arts, MegaZines (mini self-published magazines), The World of Radio, and Camp Nightingale, which will explore the field of nursing.

Students in grades 1-3 will attend Kid’s College on July 13th and 14th, from 1-4 pm.  There will be three class sessions, with each session being an hour long.  Cost for 1st-3rd graders will be $25, and includes enrollment in three classes and a T-Shirt.

Classes to be offered for 1st-3rd grade Kid’s College will be: Renewable Energy, Drones, Exploring Music, Latch Hook Crafts, Basketball, Mad Science, Mosaic Fun, Dance, Crazy Fun Art, T-Bird Cheer, Fun with Woodworking, Fun & Games, Tie Dye, Jewelry, and Real Heroes, which will be taught by members of local law enforcement and Fire and EMS.

Early enrollment deadline for both sections of Kid’s College is June 6.th  Classes are limited in size, so early enrollment is suggested.  A T-shirt cannot be guaranteed without early enrollment.  Registration fliers, which include full descriptions of classes, have been delivered to area schools, and can also be found online at www.cloud.edu/about/kids-college.
