71-Year-Old Woman Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash in Washington County

A Manhattan woman was killed in a crash in Washington County on Wednesday, September 21st.

According to a report from the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2017 Volkswagen Beetle driven by Anne Nielsen, 71 of Manhattan, was traveling southbound on K-148.  Nielsen failed to stop at a stop sign at US Highway 36, around three miles south of Hanover, and her vehicle was struck by a westbound 2005 Ford F-350 driven by Jeffry Clark, 60 of Thermopolis, Wyoming.

Both vehicles came to a rest in the center median.

The accident occurred at 3:45 pm Wednesday.

Nielsen was killed in the crash.  She was wearing her seat belt at the time of the accident.

Clark was taken to Hanover Hospital for a complaint of pain.  He also was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.
